Located on beautiful Kachemak Bay, Homer has much to offer all types of visitors. Alaskan artists abound, displaying their art in the local shops and galleries. Fishing charter services offer guests a wide range of options, with premier salmon and halibut fishing available.
Homer is also the starting place for a ride on the Tustamena (Alaska Marine Hwy. ferry) to Kodiak Island. Marine mammals including whales and a wide variety of birds including large numbers of eagles can often be seen by either walking along the spit or taking a private charter or guide out into the bay. For dinner enjoy fresh fish, crab and shrimp purchased from the seafood shops along the docks or prepared by a local chef.
